HEAD COACH

BILL MCSWEEN

Welcome to a new hockey season Ranger Fans!  My name is Bill McSween and I am the proud son of Bill and Marge McSween.  When the opportunity came up for me to coach this group I was excited and could not wait to become a part of the family.  I have played at the High School, Junior, and Collegiate levels of hockey.  As a high school player I was voted All-State my senior year and had the opportunity to play in the Chicago Showcase and Hockey Night in Boston.  This enabled me to play in NAHL and AWHL junior A hockey leagues.  The highlight was playing in the Junior A National Tournament in 2002.  I received a scholarship to play at Davenport University where I was a captain and won 2 National Championships.  I also had the opportunity to play for my country for the USA select team in 2008.

Our coaching staff strongly believes high school hockey offers players the unique opportunity to develop as people, leaders, and pillars within the community.   You are only as good as the people you surround yourself with and I am lucky to have a great coaching staff.  This year we have Kyle Marchand, Logan Davis and Will Snyder who are excited to be part of Forest Hills Central Hockey.  We are looking forward to carrying on the tradition of Ranger hockey and creating a winning culture.  Thank you to all the parents, administration, and student athletes for making this possible.  Go Rangers!

Assistant Coaches

KYLE MARCHAND

Assistant Coach, Kyle Marchand

Originally from Fenton, MI I moved to west Michigan in 2019 with my wife Jennifer and our two children Oliver (5), and Maizie (3). My day job is a project manager for a general contractor in the Grand Rapids area.

Kyle attended Fenton High School, and was a 4-year Varsity hockey player. Winning 2 Regional Championships as a player, and still holds the school record for assists in a season. After High School, Kyle attended Michigan Technological University in Houghton, MI where he played on their ACHA team for two seasons.

In 2014 Kyle returned to Fenton and became an assistant coach for the Fenton/Linden Co-Op Varsity team. He maintained this position for two seasons before being named Head Coach in 2016. During his tenure at Fenton/Linden the team saw an improvement from (2-22-0) before he arrived in 2014 to a (17-8-0) record in the 2018-19 season.

Kyle also coaches for Michigan Hockey Advancement fall hockey program. "MHA" is an elite statewide selects fall team that competes in some of the nation's biggest showcase tournaments in Boston, Nashville, Chicago, Grand Rapids, and Detroit. Since 2020 he has helped with all three age groups (15O, 16U, and 18U).

Kyle joined the Rangers staff in 2022 as an assistant coach, with focus on coaching forwards and special teams. "I am very excited to be part of the Ranger program, and community. High School Hockey is a passion of mine, and know this program can become the elite program on the westside of Michigan."

Logan is dedicated to teamwork, hard work, and optimism.  He inspires the players to give 100% and makes sure they are loving the game.

WILL SNYDER

Assistant Coach, Will Snyder

In 2002 Will moved from his hometown of Flint to Grand Rapids to play hockey and go to school at Davenport University.  Will earned both his Bachelor's and Master's degree at Davenport University and currently is employeed with Davenport as a Project Manager.

Will has over 10 years of coaching experience with youth travel teams and has spent several years working specifically with goaltenders through camps or one-on-one training.  He and coach McSween have spent several years coaching together.
